As the nation’s healthcare system continues to come under scrutiny by various stakeholders, the need to support various private healthcare initiatives has become imperative. It’s on this note that the Italk Initiative, a Health & Wellness Initiative, on July 26th, 2025, held a free medical outreach with the theme:
“The Impact of Environmental Factors on Diseases, the Role of Nature-Based Solutions in Public Health Initiatives.” The impactful initiative, led by its Founder, Kemi Akinseye, was held at Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, and had certified medical practitioners in attendance to receive members of the community.
The event’s outline included prostate tests, breast scans, dental care, eye tests, and fertility tests. It also included screenings for non-communicable diseases such as dental problems, eye problems, cancer, kidney and liver diseases. The outreach provided free medical services, health education, and essential health supplies to residents of the community, many of whom have limited access to healthcare resources due to their busy schedules.
The medical personnel on the ground included Dr. Gagan B. Sahoo, Dr. Femi Ogunremi, therapist Kemi Akinseye, and others. Participants of the free medical outreach thanked the convener and prayed that God would uplift them to continue doing much more. They commended the initiative as a step in the right direction towards enabling people to know their health status at no cost and called for its consistency.
