IN its quest and mandate to ensure food availability to Nigerians, Nigerians, the Executive Secretary, National Agricultural Land Development Authority, NALDA, Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Cornelius Adebayo, has assured Nigerians on its commitment to fulfill its mandate on food production to Nigerians .
He made known
the Authority’s dedication and commitment to transforming Nigeria’s agricultural sector while speaking at a capacity building workshop for State Coordinators of the Authority in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, in Abuja with the theme: ‘Leading Nigeria’s Agricultural Revolution: Steering NALDA Towards Excellence (From Vision To Abundance, Creating Strategic Alignment To Drive Results and Scale Impact)’.
He however charged the state coordinators to key into the 2031 Strategic Vision to ensure that the Authority delivers on its statutory mandate to achieve food security and sovereignty for the country.
The NALDA boss, said the retreat was basically organised to ensure the State coordinators are in line with the vision of the management to ensure synergy, cooperation and diligent implementation of the Authority’s initiatives and projects in order to have a seamless achievement of the Authority’s mandate on food production and sovereignty.
“Just a few weeks ago, we held a retreat for the directors and Heads of departments and units of the Authority and we believe that we would have a structural problem if there is a disconnect between the headquarters and state coordinators, hence this retreat”, which he stressed that as NALDA’s field officers in the 36 states and FCT, the coordinators are in charge of the execution of the Authority’s projects in their areas of jurisdictions”. He said.
“You (coordinators are at the centre of the execution of NALDA’s projects. I charge you all to leave this retreat with a new mindset that you are part of a new beginning to transform Nigeria’s agricultural sector”. He appealed to participants.
“Nigeria is waiting for you. Together, we can build Nigeria of our dreams and NALDA is at the centre of achieving that.” He added.
